I deal primarily with contractual, commercial and workplace disputes. Trained both in the United States and the United Kingdom, I am a court-appointed mediator to the Lane County Court.
Why mediate?
Litigation is expensive and risky. It almost always results in a win-lose situation. Mediation, on the other hand, is designed to help both disputing parties reach a settlement that is mutually acceptable: a win-win outcome.
How does it work?
Mediation takes place in a comfortable, controlled environment. The mediator guides the process through a number of stages, helping the participants define their needs and interests, generate options and formulate an agreement. The real beauty of mediation lies in the fact that the parties remain in control of their destiny at all times: the mediator never acts as an arbiter or judge.
